自己當了父親之後，才逐漸明白自己的父親對待我們這些子女是一種什麼樣的心情，也更能夠深刻體會Father and Son(選自Cat Stevens於1970年發行的專輯Tea for the Tillerman)這首歌曲想要表達的含意，那是一種特別屬於兩代之間相互矛盾卻又彼此牽掛的面向，這也是親情之所以為親情的本質。
於是，希望將來我們對Emma與Ian的關懷與想望可以成為他們展翅高飛的助力，正如當初雙方爸媽對我們的叮嚀與期待，也希望兩位小朋友長大之後，當他們聽到Father and Son 這首歌時，也能從中找到些什麼，不管那是什麼，我由衷盼望那都會是一個好的開始。當然作為一個搖滾樂迷，我更希望當屬於他們那個世代的Radiohead出現時，我們能並肩一起在場中瘋狂吶喊，然後相視一笑。
