Jiji Chiou-Suei-yuan Sand Blast Engraving Studio

緣起Origin
秋水緣源於2000年921地震後的重建工程，位於地震帶受創甚深的南投，為了工藝藝術的重建，台灣工藝研究所特於集集開設「集集家園重建--石材影雕工藝班」，秋水緣也於此時投入影雕班，學習影雕相關技術與創作，為推展影雕藝術之美，遂於2006年成立「集集影雕秋水緣工作室」。
The deadly 921 earthquake in 1999 caused a severe damage in Nantou County. In order to recover the handicraft industry from the damage, National Taiwan Craft Research Institute opened a「Sand Blast Engraving Art on Rocks」 class in Jiji Township in 2000. Many Jiji locals had been trained the techniques and learnt the concept of Sand Blast Engraving. Chiou-Suei-yuan studio (Encounter of the Autumn’s Water) was created in 2006 to promote the beauty
of Sand Blast Engraving art.

影雕Sand Blast Engravi
影雕是一套蛻變自傳統絹印的新式工藝創作法，結合電腦影像處理、石材加工、噴砂和彩繪、貼金等多元工藝技巧，材質除了石頭外，亦可於瓷器、玉石、玻璃、竹片、堅果殼、骨牙等工具進行影雕藝術工作，創作主題不限，如佛經、人像、風景圖片，甚至教育宣導均可依個人需求訂製，完成作品精緻、典雅，深具收藏及紀念價值。
Sand Blast Engraving is a new art form derived from screen printing. It is essentially the stencil method of printmaking in which a design is imposed on a fine mesh, with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance. Sand is then forced through the mesh onto the printing surface to form designs.
This new form of art combined computer imaging technology with several other skills such as rock processing techniques, sand blast, painting and covering with metal foils. The materials being used can be rocks, jade, glass, bamboo, shells, bones etc. Themes vary from religious scriptures, portraits, sceneries, or even propagandas can be done upon request. It is truly a unique, sophisticated and elegant art form worth collecting. 

現況Present
秋水緣位於集集大山，景色宜人，適合放慢腳步，細細品味。目前現場有各式作品展售，如佩飾、石印、觀賞擺飾用藝石等，也代客製作各式影雕紀念品，此外，為了讓來訪者能體驗影雕樂趣，現場亦開辦石材影雕DIY動手做體驗教學。
Chiou-Suei-yuan Studio is located on the foothills of Jiji Mountain which offers a pleasant countryside atmosphere. You will enjoy its peaceful and calm life style. Many finished pieces and other ornaments are on display in the show room. We also accept custom orders and offer DIY programs for groups or those individuals who like to experience Sand Blast Engraving for themselves.
