Rosalind Hall 和張惠笙

張惠笙和 Rosalind Hall 的聲音實驗專注於人聲與薩克斯風之間的抽象相似處，以及呼、吸與口部細節的變化。長於帶觀眾於樂器內外之間的聽感變換，由此將注意力引到聲音的質地、動態，並將聽者包圍陷入的感觀。

Rosalind Hall 主要活躍在澳洲墨爾本，吹奏薩克斯風並改造樂器。她將薩克斯風進行改造調變使其發出的聲音與吹奏方式有大程度的變化。Rosalind 自製各種材質的哨片，使哨片的音質不斷變化，並成為一種敏感並易變的發聲口。她也常於薩克斯風的喇叭口放置物件。每次預備樂器及自製哨片都使樂器產生不同的震動，更挑戰玩樂器的技巧。吹者與樂器之間因此有想像不道的對話方式。

自2003年起，張惠笙主要探討延伸人聲技巧的即興表演。延伸人聲技巧希望連結非言語可形容的精神感受。張惠笙的作品探討人聲中：組合各式延伸技巧，分開、分層或互應；反映出場地或環境中的音源、音景及原音回聲；以及表現出原場地視覺或空間的影響。透過以發聲、肢體和聆聽的延伸合作，來實驗對體內能源的緊繃或抒發、場地及方位性的共處方式，與他人的協合與衝突的之間的反應。

手風琴的風箱以延伸人體的概念互應人肺，樂器在簡單的拉與扯之間，以實體的動力來發聲。所產生的聲音，可視為一個不移動的有機人體，在簡單的呼與吸之間，所發出的流動能源。

當一個簡單的電子器材（如麥克風）加入時，聽者的接收度與感受度將改變許多。每一個電子器材：混音台、電腦、喇叭，都將給一個存在於時空之間單純的聲音事件，另一層的抽象化。這樣模擬不清與無限可能的結果都成為這次演出的基礎。

Rosalind Hall and Alice Hui-Sheng Chang

Attending to breathing spaces and mouth details, Alice Hui-Sheng Chang and Rosalind Hall experiment with similarities between abstract voice and saxophone. The jump between interior and exterior perspectives of the instruments brings focus to the textures, movements and embodiment of sound.

Rosalind Hall is a saxophonist and instrument builder based in Melbourne, Australia. She is interested in making modifications to the saxophone that radically changes the sound of and approach to the instrument. Rosalind crafts individual reeds from many materials, transforming the reed into a sensitive and volatile sound source whose properties are ever changing. She uses objects in the bell so that with each preparation and reed the vibrations and playing techniques are altered, creating a unique dialogue between the player and the instrument.

Extended vocal technique has been Alice Hui-Sheng Chang's main focus since end of 2003. She improvises with extended vocal technique in hope of evoking a psychological connection to the indescribable feelings. Her work explores various combinations of layering and interactivity of extended techniques via interaction with the soundscape and acoustic properties of the environment, with attention to visual and spatial associations. Through these sounding, movement and listening experiments, she explored condensing and extracting of inner energy, in-site and spatialisation between collaborators, as well as the harmony and dissonance between them.

Nigel Brown

As an extension of the human body, the bellows of the piano accordion mimic the human lungs. In order to sound, the instrument is pushed and pulled in a simple act of physical exertion. The sound production of the accordion suggests the travel of energy from a live but stationary body, simply breathing in and out.

When a simple electrical device such as a microphone is introduced, questions of reception and perception are changed dramatically. Each additional electronic device – mixer, computer, loudspeakers – gives a further layer of distortion to a simple spatial/temporal event. The resultant ambiguities and possibilities form the basis of my work.

Vana將以與平常彈唱演出不同的表演方式，首次與玩實驗聲音的鳳梨合作。
兩人共同為這次風災帶來的啟示與靈感，腦力激盪出令人耳目一新的實驗創作。
包括了鳳梨親身進入災區現場錄下的聲音，Vana即興的vocal，唱出風災帶給她的深刻省思。以及在舞台上由影像構成的主要畫面，將與觀眾產生具象的抑或是抽象的連結。同時在一層層的聲音與畫面之中,串起了對生命的鼓舞與祈福。

本次演出獻給幾位剛失去家人的朋友

They said it’s difficult to see things in the right way,
yet it’s easy to say what should be right.

I pictured and pictured,
what could be seen and what could be said?

Colours could be distorted into one word.
Yet when it’s passed onto another mind,
the distortion could take a U turn.
Sound can be distorted into one colour.
Yet when the air changes,
the mind could never quite follow.

Who decided that in kids’ drawings,
the sun is yellow
and everyone lives in houses with triangle roofs instead of flat apartments?
The skin colour can never be matched up
with the limited 48 colour pencils.
Who says words in speaking bubbles,
and thoughts in thinking bubbles?

How do we break those bubbles
and turn the sun back to white or rainbow?
