Summary of the story (書背介紹):
When Sara Crewe's father is made bankrupt. Sara is reduced from enormous wealth to terrible poverty. At Miss Minchin's school, where she had been a priveleged student, she is now forced to work as a servant. But Sara has a loving heart and a quick imagination, and she knows that with the right spirit, she can remain a princess inside.

   Sara歷經人生的轉折，由富而貧。Sara是個勇敢堅毅又善良的女孩，她常能正面思考，例如她對於她自己的期勉：
 Whatever comes cannot alter one thing. If I am a princess in rags and tatters, I can be a princess inside. It would be easy to be princess if I were dressed in cloth of gold, but it is a great deal more of a triumph to be one all the time when no one knows it.     

    書中最感人的一段是Sara撿到fourpence，用這零錢她得到六個buns，極度飢餓的她，卻在瞧見了一個乞丐小女孩，她的良善讓她忘記自己的飢餓，將五個buns給了那個女孩。Sara這麼想：

She is hungrier than I am. She's starving.  
     書中的結尾，Sara又擁有了財富，但是她高貴的情操和善良的人將是最為人讚頌。
      這是一本書在困境中保持樂觀，在受不公平待還仍看重自己並對未來充滿希望的書。
      Sara the Princess將永遠鼓舞人們的心。
