相關的討論有不少，尤其是把保守的數學學術界跟 eroticism (在某些人看來) 扯上關係，總是會有些人不太舒服。據 Frenkel 表示，影片的目的是要 to give the people the idea that a math formula could be like a poem, a piece of music; to express the passion mathematicians have for their work, the frenzied state they enter when trying to solve a puzzle for days, weeks, ...
有沒有成功達成這個效果是見仁見智，但是在相關報導中，有一句話我認為是特別重要的：

就像 LP 被 CD 淘汰，CD再被 MP3 淘汰，部落格的生存空間也越來越小。比起 facebook 的確部落格是遲鈍多了，跟不上瞬息萬變的網路心靈。
前陣子盛極一時的 blogspot 分享海盜錄音、絕版唱片的熱潮，過了幾年，大眾分享的熱情也跟著冷卻。火力依舊且屢屢出現驚奇的網站只剩下 inconstant sol (inconstantsol.blogspot.com)，對於前衛音樂、現代爵士有興趣的聽眾來說絕對是一寶庫。

對於電台計畫，並沒有放棄，也還沒結束。要分享的東西還有很多，只是要等我有時間。聽完下面這首歌後，我們來日再見～

真正完整版的 Sly 現場也不是沒有，甚至我還找到一次極佳的演出。也就是 1973 年 10 月 28 日在 East Lancing (Michigan) 的現場。但是演出雖然火辣 (特別是 Hancock 的 rhodes 電鋼琴徹底爆走)，整體韻味與錄音室版本卻不相同。

不同點有二。一、clavinet 鍵盤打的放克底不相同，唱片原版比現場版來得放克。不過這並不是主要差異。主要差異是，錄音室版鼓手為 Harvey Mason，而 Herbie Hancock 帶著巡迴演出的 Headhunter 樂團鼓手是 Mike Clark，他也是後來 Thrust 專輯裡的鼓手。兩人固然都是極佳鼓手，但是 Mike Clark 著重在重拍落點的複雜變化，講求對點精準；而 Harvey Mason 則極富放克搖擺感，重拍有時必須落在稍遲一點的位置。於是，Harvey Mason 打的是黑人放克，而 Mike Clark 則比較偏 Jazz Rock。(當然，在 Thrust 專輯中 Clark 放克地不得了，不過跟 Harvey Mason 是不同玩法。)

雖然 Mike Clark 與 bassist Paul Jackson 默契與技巧絕佳，節奏變化每每令人嘖嘖稱奇，但是 Harvey Mason 鼓點具有的彈性終究是 Sly 不可或缺的元素之一。結論是，專輯版本仍然是唯一決定版。

Charlie Mariano 平常在爵士語境下，吹的是 soprano/alto saxophone，但是他還嗜好吹南印度的嗩吶 nagaswaram (或北印度嗩吶 shenai)，也算是他的招牌。
下面這一場 Eberhard Weber Colours 團的現場演出，Charlie Mariano 有精采演出，以此紀念這位吹管樂手。

這兩個影片都很無聊，但是，至少人們想起 Mahavishnu Orchestra 的時候不是只有 Meeting of the Spirits、One Word 那幾首歌，這已經很令人振奮了。

就我所知，這是目前網路上流傳的 MO bootleg 錄音中唯一一場有演奏 Lila's Dance 一曲的。但是音質相當不好，不要報太高期望。這個現場的陣容是第二代與第三代 MO 的過渡期，我不太喜歡的 Stu Goldberg 已經來了，而由於小提琴家 Jean-Luc Ponty 已經離陣，原來居二線的 Steve Kindler 扛下他的重任。但是基本上，這個樂團還保有 Visions of the Emerald Beyond 專輯的一半風味，撇開音質不談，這場演出裡的 Eternity's Breath Part 1 & 2 實在相當火辣 (Eternity's Breath Part 1 & 2 也是 John McLaughlin 生涯作曲代表作)。
