全球化與左派：一週演講
這一週要參與的主要活動都是比較學術性，而且整理一下發現大概都是比較和社會主義或後社會主義有關的。先記下來，希望有機會做會後心得報告。
週一下午：共產主義、市民社會與經濟轉型
Civil Society Under Communism and Institutional Trajectories Under Transition
Gerard Roland, Economics/University of California, Berkeley
他是作轉型經濟最有名的經濟學者之一，並且和社會學和政治學互動密切
週一晚上：Making Globalization Work
這是Stiglitz出版新書Making Globalization Work所舉辦的大型座談會，與談者包括
Tina Rosenberg, Editorial Writer, The New York Times (Moderator)
Nancy Birdsall, President of the Center for Global Development
George Soros, Founder and Chairman of the Open Society Institute; Chairman of Soros Fund Management LLC
當然，這又會是一本大賣的書。

看到Walzer演講,到想起一件事.
最近旁聽政治系的”Theories of Liberal Democracy,” 大概是把當代從Rawls以來包括Robert Nozick, Michael Walzer, Michael Sandel, John Tomasi, Alasdair MacIntyre, Richard Rorty, William Conolly等等大家的基本著作讀一遍.
在讀Walzer的 Spheres of Justice的時候,在前言發現下列一段話
“In the academic year 1970-71, I taught a course at Harvard University, alone with Robert Nozick, on the subject “Capitalism and Socialism.”” The course had the form of an argument, and half of the argument can be found in Professor Nozick’s Anarchy, State, and Utopia; this book is the other half.
竟然有這種課一門課誕生兩本巨著,而且是兩個立場南轅北轍的人合開,不知道人生有沒有機會可以遇到這種課.

方向，這真是很妙。沒想到你還有餘力旁聽。佩服。今天去聽演講時，小看了他們的魅力。開講前一刻到已經坐滿，不讓人進去了。怨。
