船舶是一種封閉的符號。
對於船舶的眷戀，總是意味著一種將自己完全封閉起來的喜悅，一種儘可能將所有物體擺在伸手可及之處的喜悅，一種擁有一個絕對有限之空間的喜悅。人之所以愛上船舶，絕不是因為他們喜歡那種漫無目標的大旅行，而是因為船舶能將他們牢牢封鎖於其中，所以他們才如此深愛著這艘頂級之家。船在成為一種交通工具之前，乃是一個居住的事實。
